New Hires Strengthen Närko’s Expertise
Recent recruitment has expanded Närko’s competence base and brought new expertise to the company. The company also maintains a clear commitment to workplace equality.
The trailer industry has traditionally been very male-dominated, but Närko is working to achieve a better gender balance among its workforce. Recently, several new female employees have been recruited to Närko, while existing female employees have taken on new, responsible roles.
Jenny Vesterlund has started her role as the new Chief Accountant, and Johanna Pirinen was recently hired as Group Business Controller. In addition, Daniela Nissén has been appointed as Accounting Assistant, Karolina Kuusisto has taken on a new role as Accountant, while Jessica Hietikko has been appointed as HR Specialist.
“We always try to have both genders represented in all recruitment processes. From being a heavily male-dominated workplace, about 20 percent of our office staff are now women,” says Mikael Louhi, CEO of Närko Group.
Johanna Pirinen and Jenny Vesterlund have both been working at Närko for a few months and are very pleased with their new workplace.
“I’ve settled in really well at Närko. There is a great corporate culture here that helps employees thrive, and the colleagues are very welcoming,” says Johanna.
She previously worked as an auditor and appreciates the opportunity to focus deeply on a single company, rather than managing a large portfolio of different clients as she did before. Johanna’s responsibilities at Närko include compiling reports for the management team.

Similarly, Jenny Vesterlund, who previously worked at an accounting firm, was drawn to Närko by the prospect of getting to know a single business inside out. Her responsibilities include monthly reporting and consolidated financial statements.
“I really enjoy working at Närko. Many of our colleagues have been here a long time, yet they have been very welcoming to us as new hires. It is also great that quite a few of us started around the same time.”
