Trailer Rigg expands capacity with investment in new production facility

Närko-owned Trailer Rigg is investing 2.5 million euros in a completely modernized machinery fleet, while simultaneously moving production to a new facility. For Närko’s customers, this investment translates to improved quality and delivery reliability.

Trailer Rigg is a subsidiary of Närko Group that specializes in manufacturing components such as sandwich panels for box bodies and trailers. The company is currently undertaking a milestone investment by completely renewing its machinery. At the same time, production is moving into a larger facility in Teuva.

“The old factory hall was not suitable for line production due to its layout. Furthermore, the maximum length of the panels was limited,” says Mikael Louhi, CEO of Närko Group.

Value of investment 2.5M€

Operations will move into a new hall built by the local municipality, where Trailer Rigg will be the tenant. No old machinery will be moved to the new site; instead, the equipment will be entirely replaced during the transition. The total value of the investment is 2.5 million euros.

“The new machinery was installed over the summer. The new line is scheduled to be fully operational in September, at which point the old facility will be closed down,” says Nicklas Pärus, CEO at Närko and Trailer Rigg.

For Närko’s customers, the investment ensures higher quality and finishing, improved delivery security, and increased capacity. The investment will double the capacity, meeting Närko’s growth target of 1,000 units per year. Moreover, the new line will also be capable of producing panels exceeding 14 meters in length. Previously, Närko sourced long panels externally, but in the future, these can be manufactured within the group.
